A genuine novelty: a wooded, undisturbed campground inside Detroit itself, with deer at dawn and real trails. Rustic and group-oriented rather than a comfort resort, but the lowest-stakes way to test a night outdoors 20 minutes from home. Can flood in heavy rain.
